short description
Most importantly, Nala loves a lot of fuss and cuddles.
A perfect day would be cuddles, food, cuddles, a walk, more cuddles and a sleep in the sun - and repeat...
Nala is, Mastin-typical very loving and loyal. She is curious, and sometimes frightened by her own curiosity.
special features / medical informations
Currently she is not yet neutered, as she is still growing. But she will get neutered before her adoption.
full description
Nala is sister to Nanouk and they were both found abandoned together in a local village. Whilst initially a bit wary of people, they have grown into perfect Mastin pups that are looking for their Forever Home (together or separately). They are now seven months old and have their passports, microchips, rabies and full vaccinations.
They currently sleep in the fosterers’ workshop where there is a choice of sleeping arrangements, and they are completely clean at night. They are not greedy with their food, they can eat well side by side. Her sister is faster when eating but respects Nala's bowl and doesn't take anything away from her. There is no resource guarding with food or toys although a play-fight will develop if they both want the same toy .
Nala and Nanouk currently (since Christmas) live with the fosterers’ four other dogs of different ages and sizes - they are curious but never intrusive. Nala & Nanouk will ask the older dogs to play with them but respectfully back-off if the answer is ‘no’!
With new people they are initially curious although a little shy, but then quickly get used to the presence of people. Nala is generally a bit more reserved with people than Nanouk. They let the fosterers know when someone approaches the property, but also quickly stop barking when told.
They have regular lead-walks and are improving all of the time. They are very people-oriented and do not run away when off-lead. If they do lose sight of their fosterers, they usually come very quickly when called.
Nala mastered the veterinary visit in Granada very well. She is interested in many things but does not get under stress and shows no anxiety (see the videos of her walking on the leash in Granada bellow).
Nala can be very agile - particularly when chasing butterflies - but in typical Mastin fashion, she then needs to sleep for a few hours. She needs a moderate amount of exercise but would prefer several short walks rather than one very long walk.
Nala currently weights around 36kg and is likely to be around 40kg when adult so will need a house with space and preferably a large garden or outside space.
If you think you may be able to offer Nala, or as well her Sister Nanouk, a home and have any questions, please ask us and we will get back to you.
