Che Guevara in Spain DOB 1/07/2023
We are surprised that the gorgeous Ché hasn’t been snapped up!He is a fabulous young boy who would be the perfect pet and his gorgeous rust colour is just so unusual. He is only nine months old and we are really hoping that he will be in his Forever Home before his first birthday.
This handsome boy is Ché Guevara, who appeared on the streets of Alhama several weeks ago, very thin and undernourished. He latched on to someone who was kind to him, followed them home and has been cared for with affection in their house since then. Now he weighs a healthy 15kg, is castrated and his blood tests show he’s an extremely healthy dog with none of the Mediterarnean diseases. His DoB is 1.7.2023 and he’s 56cm tall. Ché is very affectionate, behaves well with people and other dogs and is calm and clean in the house. He walks well on and off the lead and is playful. He doesn’t live with cats but is interested when he sees them in the street and his instinct is to chase them. Ché will be a great pet and deserves his own family. To adopt him, please get in touch. Finn - DOB 24 September 2023
Finn is a beautiful black Labrador puppy (dob 24/9/23). Our vet has detailed Finn as a Labrador X but as he grows, he is looking virtually 100% Labrador as you can see in the photos.
He was found with his sister abandoned on a main road at just 12 weeks old. Surprisingly, both pups were reasonably healthy but slightly underweight. Blood tests revealed anaemia for which they received treatment. They were kept together for a month where they continuedto put on weight and thrive.
After the female pup was adopted, Finn moved to another fosterer who describes him as her black beauty with golden eyes. Finn is now 5 months old and full of puppy energy. He is learning basic commands and is toilet-trained. He is the youngest dog in a houseful ofadult dogs so he has plenty of friends to play with but does sometimes need to be put in his crate to give the other dogs a rest from him. He is a typical bouncy playful clumsy
puppy but because of his size, this can be quite boisterous and we wouldn’t recommend he live with young children who could accidentally get knocked over! However, this very happy chap will
be the perfect pet for a family with enough space for a large playful Labrador. Finn has his passport and full vaccination record and is ready to travel. (Finn is wearing the green collar in the photos with his sister).

Breeze - DOB 31st October 2023
An abandoned beautiful black medium-sized dog arrived at a lady’s house near Alhama and promptly gave birth to eight puppies on 31st October 2023. Whilst that is a story in itself, surprisingly, dad (a small pointer X) was with her and has stayed to help raise the pups. The adult dogs are fabulous - very sweet and gentle - and we are delighted that the family have agreed to keep the adult dogs (and get them castrated!) and also keep one pup. Mum and dad can be seen in some of the videos. Two of the pups have been adopted locally but five are now looking for their own loving families.

Baxter - DOB 31st October 2023

Farah (dob 01/06/23)
Farah is a beautiful young Podenco X (dob 01/06/23). She is a very happy, confident and lively girl. She is toilet-trained and sleeps well in a crate at night. She walks well on a lead and is very sociable with other dogs. She is the perfect pet just waiting for a new family to love her.

Donny(DOB October 2023) Male

Devi (DOB October 2023) Adopted Decemebr 2023
Devi was one of a litter found abandoned and has been hand reared from a very young age.
Devi is the bossy one of the group and loves to keep the others in order. She's quite small at the moment and will probably be the size of a small labrador when fully grown.
She will be ready for adoption in from early December.

Olly (DoB 02.23) Mastin / wire-haired German pointer. Adopted December 2023
Olly (DoB 02.23) is a beautiful mix of Mastin and wire-haired German pointer. He was found alone and anxious on a dark street. He was muddy and very frightened of traffic so appears to be a campo pup abandoned in the village.
But Olly is a lovely, special young dog and a ‘top of the class’ guy! He is soft, gentle and submissive; sociable, loving and friendly with dogs and people; and with his recall - so well-behaved on and off the lead. We are helping him to overcome his fear of cars, he’s getting more relaxed every day.
Olly would make a fabulous family pet and he’d certainly enjoy a loving and energetic home for all his cuddles and games.

Dusty (DOB October 2023) Adopted December 2023
Dusty was one of a litter found abandoned and has been hand reared from a very young age.
Dusty is small, smooth - haired and feisty. She's getting treatment to strengthen the ligaments in her right foot. She'll probably be small labrador size when fully grown. Her mother is a medium-sized Podenco and her father a Mastin X. At 6 weeks she weighs about 2.6kg. She will be ready for adoption in from early December.

Lemony - Podenco cross
DoB 02.02.23 Adopted October 2023
Lemony was abandoned by her owners - they left her with her bowl and some food - on an urbanisation. Despite the trauma, Lemony is a happy, very affectionate girl although quite submissive. She really is a sweetheart, getting on well with other dogs and cats, and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa. We hope that soon she can be found a loving family of her own. Our next steps will be to get her sterilised and blood tested.

Ronnie - (DoB 24.6.23) female
Ronnie is a sweet, fluffy Mastin X pup that was found wandering the hot streets of a village full of ticks and worms. She has been treated and is now enjoying foster care. She is a typical Mastin that is playful, sweet-natured and loves company. She has huge paws and we think she’ll be a big girl of around 40kg when full grown.

Tutu (DOB - 01/06/23) Podenco
Tutu is a beautiful chocolate Podenco who found herself alone in the Campo aged just 10 weeks. She had the good sense to find her way to a house that just happens to be owned by a lady who is a friend of ASAP, and she fostered her for a week. She doesn’t appear to have been abused in any way but was very hungry and full of worms when found.
She is now with a fosterer who has lots of dogs and Tutu is having the time of her life! She is very confident with all the other dogs - no matter how large they are - and enjoys chasing and being chased. She is very playful and very quick at running - consequently she ‘crashes’ in the evening and sleeps all night in a kennel with two of the other dogs.
She was noted to chase cats when with her first fosterer and although she didn’t catch them, this is a trait that she will probably keep.
She is well behaved in the house although has a tendency to pinch any socks that might be lying around
Tutu has started her vaccination programme and will get her rabies, microchip and passport shortly. Our vet estimates she will be about 12kg as an adult.
She will make a wonderful pet for a family with plenty of time and space for this lively young girl. She would possibly benefit from having another dog to play with as she is very energetic as you will see from the videos. One of the videos show her playing with Rocky - a Podenco/Boxer cross who is also available for adoption.

Freddie - Adopted in Spain
DOB 10/07/2023 Male
Last week we rescued little Freddie - Yorkie cross - who was found all alone in field in a really bad state. He’s getting loads of love and good care in his foster home and he is already feeling better and starting to enjoy life. He is 3 months old (DoB 10.7.23). ROCKY Adopted in Spain
Male DOB 20/03/23
Rocky is a beautiful puppy who has had a tragic start in life but is now ready for a wonderful new home. He is just five months old and our vet has classified him as a Boxer/Podenco cross (a very unusual mix here in Spain), so he will be a small/medium adult dog.
Very sadly, we think he was taken away from his mum at a very young age because, whilst he is great with people, he seemed to be a bit ‘confused’ by other dogs and was unable to read/understand their body language. However, after a month with our most experienced fosterer who has a houseful of dogs, he has developed into a confident and sociable dog who is enjoying every moment of his new life as you will see from the videos.
He is remarkably relaxed and on a recent trip into town, he wasn’t at all bothered by the traffic, other dogs or even the cats who wander around the cafeterias. He walks well on a lead and has just learned the command ‘sit’ - he’s a very clever little chap .
He has started his course of vaccinations and now has his passport, microchip and rabies meaning he will be able to travel from 8th September onwards. He is great with children and will make a wonderful pet for anyone who has time and lots of love for this special little pup.

Sammy - Adopted in The Netherlands
Female DOB 06/06/2021
Sammy is an 18-month old black Labrador cross. She turned up on our plot just before Christmas - starving and scared. 8 weeks later she has developed into an amazing dog, she has filled her lose skin, has been sterilised and blood checked for the 5 main Mediterranean Diseases. She is showing negative to Leish - the one we all dread - and has received doxycycline for a tick disease- which should be eliminated by this antibiotic. It is clear she has had puppies and was sterilised on 31st January. She’s put on about 5kg in one-month and after 2-weeks on Animastrath her coat is smooth and velvety - she looks like a different dog. She is very good, if a bit bouncy, quite normal for an 18-month old! Her recall is great and she walks off lead everyday. She went to Granada and was excellent on a lead - no pulling and very calm in a busy city. She will put herself in the crate voluntarily and she sleeps in our utility room, using the dog flap to go in and out. In 6-weeks there have been no accidents in the house and she’s fastidious at self-grooming. Sophie, our cat, is keeping out of the way, but they have seen each other and Sammy wasn’t interested. She goes with us to feed the chickens and is interested in their food, but not them. She responds to ‘come here, this way, sit, lie down and leave it’ and has just learned to offer her paw for a treat. She’d make a great pet, but think she’d benefit from more exercise than we (old people) can give her. Please contact asap.granada@gmail.com for more information
Boelie - Adopted in Spain
Male DOB 06/09/2022
Boelie was a stray from a nearby village who was being threatened and chased by locals. He was rescued by one of our fosterers and he immediately felt comfortable with her other dogs.He is now a happy boy who loves his food and is an easy dog - sociable and very people-oriented.
He sleeps in his basket at home and is very quiet during the night.
He is playful and loves chasing a ball! On walks he stays nearby and afterwards he quickly calms down. He likes riding in the car.
According to the vet he is a Podenco/Brack cross. He will be medium-sized and will probably weigh just under 20 kilos once fully grown.
We believe he would enjoy a small garden and fit in well with children.
Dinky - Adopted in Spain
Male DOB 15/03/2022
When we left our plot by car, Dinky walked in!
He so wanted to be made welcome.
Now he is with us in foster and is doing very well.
He is a medium-sized Spanish Shepherd and weighs about 15 kg.
He is very sociable with other dogs and gets along well with cats. He loves to chase balls and brings them back. He walks nicely on a lead and can also walk off lead,
without any problems. He sleeps in the house and is very quiet at night. He is a very nice family dog and loves to go in the car and everywhere with us!
Dinky has been neutered and we have tested his blood, as we do with all dogs over 6-months of age. He is now receiving control medication for leishmaniasis and is due repeat tests in June 2023. The vet also noted that he was blind in his right eye, probably following an infection. We hadn't noticed this.
The people who have recently fostered Dinky for a month, whilst on holiday have nothing but praise for him and we hope that this sweetheart gets his golden basket soon.

DOLLY ADOPTED Female - DOB 16/02/2022 sterilised
Dolly is looking for her forever home. She's got a passport and is sterilised.
Dolly is very sociable with all dogs and very affectionate to people. She is always trying to entice people to get a cuddle. She's playful with puppies and ok with cats too. She likes big walks and always stays close by. In the evening she is so happy to lay on the sofa next to you but prefers to be on your lap, snuggling. She is calm during the night. Can anybody gives that beautiful dog a forever home?

TUTTI ADOPTED Male - DOB 2/2/22
May we introduce you to this handsome little gentleman?
This cute little guy was found abandoned on the street in a small village in Spain. He was wearing a collar and harness, but they were way too tight.
He now lives with a foster family and enjoys his new carefree life to the fullest. He loves to run and romp with the other dogs. Tutti is a Chihuahua cross and will remain a small dog. According to the vet, he won't get much bigger and will grow to about 5 kilos.
He is very playful, brave and affectionate. At night he sleeps peacefully on the couch and is house-trained.
He has vaccinations and a passport and can travel to Belgium on 24 June.

MEX ADOPTED MALE - DOB 04/12/2021
Mex is a beautiful little puppy. It is difficult to see in the photos but in amongst his black coat, he has gorgeous sable-coloured areas. Mex and his siblings were rescued at an early age and subsequently are very sociable and affectionate pups. Mex loves to be cuddled and he loves his food😊. He is a Sharpei cross so will remain a relatively small dog as an adult. Mex will be a wonderful family pet. He has nearly completed his vaccination programme and will be ready to travel on the 8th April.

CREMA ADOPTED FEMALE - DOB 11/11/21
Crema is a wonderful pup who has turned into a happy and confident dog despite her poor start in life. She was about 5-6 weeks when rescued along with her brother Bobi. Crema is believed to be a Labrador Mastin Cruzado but is small for her age so she is likely to medium, rather than large, adult. Crema and Bobi have been in foster care with a fosterer who has four adult dogs and they have helped with ensuring that these puppies have been taught some doggie manners in the absence of their mum. Crema is very affectionate and cuddly. Crema is fully vaccinated and is ready to travel on the 8th April.

JUNIOR ADOPTEFD MALE DOB 13/10/2021
Junior is a gorgeous Beagle X who was born with three siblings to a loved family pet who accidentally became pregnant. Junior benefitted from being with his mum and siblings for the first two months of his life where he lived as part of a family with children.
Junior is currently in foster in Spain where he is sharing a pen with a blind puppy and acting as his ‘sighted companion’ - a job that he seems to love.
Junior is a healthy, happy and sociable puppy who will be a wonderful pet. He loves attention, cuddles and a belly-rub. Junior is fully vaccinated and ready to travel on the 8th April trip.

MITCH ADOPTED MALE DOB 4/12/2021
Mitch was found in a hole on open ground together with his brother and sister. The owner of the land contacted ASAP and luckily they were picked up quickly and went straight into foster, at only 5 weeks old. From the outset, Mitch stood out as not only being the biggest pup but also the most sociable. He loves crawling on peoples’ laps for cuddles and kisses.
He’s a great little pup that loves walking and gathering all his toys together - happily playing with them all on his own. He’s sweet, calm and polite towards the older dogs living in his foster home.
He is very focused on food and still needs to learn how to control his appetite.
He’s a good sleeper and is housetrained, but, due his age, he still has the occasional accident.

FEMALE DOB 04/12/2021
Manu is an active, smart dog.
Her stronger brothers don't make it easy for her and use her as a trampoline, but she is completely up to the bullying and bounces straight back without complaining or squeaking.
She is very playful and cheerful, enjoys her walks, enjoys a good run, but comes back very enthusiastically for treats.
She will remain a small dog, walks well on a lead, enjoys walks very much and then lies fully satisfied in the sun.
She is definitely ready to go to a golden basket!

Juno - in Spain ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
Female DOB 15/03/2022
In early July 2022, Juno was taken off the street with her brother Milo, somewhere between Alhama de Granada and Bermejales. They had roamed there along with some other dogs, but the situation was very dangerous and the dogs were all malnourished. Unfortunately, our team could only "rescue" Juno and Milo. Both dogs live now together in a foster home, in the campo of Alhama de Granada. Juno is still quite scared and insecure. Everything is new to her. However, now that she is getting enough food and drink, she is learning to explore her surroundings. She plays some naughty puppy pranks with her brother, but she is actually a very good-natured puppy. They usually stay outside, in an unfenced area, but don't run away. When they go for a walk, she walks well, not too far from her foster mom – whom she’d happily stay with all day long. Juno also likes to be cuddled, but because of her fear of everything new, she often hides away. Every day she’s improving and is gaining more confidence. But walking on a leash, for example, has not yet been successful. As a result, we can't go for a walk with her in the village or take her somewhere else to go for a walk. She also gets very sick in the car (hopefully she’ll grow out of it). Juno is very sweet to other dogs, also gets along well with cats and can even be gently stroked by strangers. Who has a lot of patience and time, to socialize this insecure puppy and let her discover that the world can be a beautiful, pleasant place? We are sure she will grow into a sweet, loyal and lovely pet.
